We are experiencing a heat wave like no other. Thank god for air conditioning at Ophelia's ballet classes this week. We signed up for a week long summer session and she is loving it.

  

Little J isn't quite big enough to fully enjoy the jolly jumper experience yet but she sure loves to be standing. Sticky and sweaty with the heat and teething on top of it, the last few days have been uncomfortable for her. She rolled over on her own for the first time yesterday. And she loves her big sister even more. O is the one to get her to laugh and smile with her silly songs and dancing.

Folk Fest

Iron & Wine

I can't wait to see this band live. It's a family event on Jericho beach this weekend, starting tomorrow night. Hopefully I'll have some photos to share later.  I forgot the camera!

I've never been to the Vancouver Folk Festival but the setting will be gorgeous and hopefully some of the food and crafts will be too. 

busy weekend

Sunday was my first Got Craft bite-sized show. 

We almost called it a day when 

the wind swept up someone's canopy and things went flying off tables. It eventually died down. Later in the day I was visited by my girls. One needed a top up and the other showed off her tiger face, painted at the Farmer's Market.

We had two birthday parties this weekend as well. 

Happy 1st birthday Sadie! I think she might take after her dad who is a musician. 

The cake was delicious. Happy 1st birthday Amelie and 3rd birthday Mackenzie!

i don't like when the water splashes me

But she did manage to get soaked. Hurrah. A bit of a princess at times. She puttered around at first but then ran into an old friend. They ran 

around and had the best time. The heat set in so we didn't stay long.  

Raspberries were going to be picked this afternoon but T was later than he thought. He is the principal of summer school for the next 6 weeks and the first few days are always a bit hectic. Tomorrow we'll head out early to get first pick of berries and hopefully make a batch of jam for the fridge.

 

July is a busy month for birthdays. Tobin's was yesterday, and oops, I didn't even post a happy birthday to him - sorry Bob! My sister's is mid July, so I had better get on a gift to send! The next two weekends Ophelia has been invited to four birthday parties. And my dearest friend is coming to celebrate hers at the end of the month. Did I miss anyone?
